If memes are not persuasive enough, maybe knowing all the benefits for your mental health will be the last push you need to decide to go on that hike for the weekend. Or go and do some gardening, or simply go to your nearest park and feel the breeze on your face.
As it turns out, getting in touch with nature is great for us: it can boost our mood, improve our brain function, and lower stress. Let's be real here: we all need some mood boosting, and we definitely need another outlet for our stress. We're already too overworked; we need a break. Besides, it's not necessary to organize a big or complicated activity. Going on a picnic is a good option. Of course, we can go camping, hiking, taking a trip to the nearest lake, or whatever you want. The point here is that just by spending 10 minutes in contact with fresh air and away from a screen, you can feel better and improve your health. You can do it by yourself and make it your self-care moment, or bring along friends and family. Some time spent in nature is better than none, no matter if you're alone or accompanied by people.

If it were up to me, I would move to a cabin in the woods: I would wake up to the singing of the birds, go out and smell the scent of the forest, and gather some pine twigs to carry some of that scent into my home. I would have a garden to grow flowers and vegetables, and basically become the real-life version of a fairy-tale princess.
Sadly, that is not something available to me right now, and most people can't afford to get lost in the wilderness. We have to be in the office by Monday. However, we can always find a way to mesh nature into our lives: taking a walk, going to the park, growing a little garden, and lying down on the grass are all ways to connect with nature that are a lot easier ways to mesh our urban lifestyle with all the benefits of plants and fresh air. I'm definitely going to try it more often.
